Do antidepressants work?
Controversy over the effectiveness of antidepressants such as Prozac, provoked by an article by Irving Kirsch and colleagues in 2008 in PLOS Medicine, shows no sign of declining.
In June 2008 Blair Johnson and Irving Kirsch wrote an analysis of their findings in Significance. In it, they said that the truth was more complex and more interesting that the headlines on stories reporting their study suggested.
Because of its continuing interest, and thanks to the Royal Statistical Society, the publishers of Significance, their analysis is being made available as a resource here.
